A calm and friendly retreat in the heart of a real African village
Trip Advisor review 2014
Hibiscus House was quite a find! Run by an English woman called Susan and her son Oliver, they have worked hard to build the place from scratch into a fantastic guesthouse retreat. The Gambian staff they have hired are fantastic with the guests - nothing is a problem, and they often welcome you to join in with them in chatting and having a bit of banter. Seriously!
It's a great place to relax by the pool, spot some rare Gambian bird-life in the shaded garden, or talk to the staff and other guests over a drink at the poolside bar.
Almost the best thing though is the location, because as soon as you step outside you're right onto the quiet shaded streets of a proper African village.
